Background/Introduction:
Within the scope of this overall goal
the project pursued the following major components:
§
Improve the internal communications
through the use of Information and Communication Technology tools,
thereby enhancing communications between Departments within the
Ministry;
§
Automate workflow of official forms,
thereby improving the transparency and efficiency of the system; and
§
Improve the management f documentations
through converting files to softcopies, thereby increasing ease and
security of documents.
To achieve the objectives, the project
concentrated on the following main group of activities:

Analysis and documentation of
required information flows within the Ministry;

Hire the services of a consultant
for Lotus Domino and Notes;

Purchase of required Hardware and
Software; and
-
Promote the ‘Smart Government’
replicable model government-wide.
Achievements:
-
Established necessary hardware and
software for developing e-governance applications, including
applications for document management; and
-
Increased effectiveness and
efficiency of online communications between departments within the
MoIC through the provision of hardware and consultancy requirements.
