The project was initiated by the Society for Promotion of Education and Training (SPET). Implementation of the construction was entrusted to Helvetas in 2011.
The goal of the project is to contribute towards optimum utilization of local resources (wood) for construction and contribute towards an optimum and modern learning environment for the university system.
The main outcomes of the project shall be:
Optimize opportunities for on-the-job training
Generate aesthetic and functional facilities for the RUB

The construction drawings have been completed and approved
Preparation of bid document in progress
Special length wood has been ordered
Challenges
Sourcing the required special length wood in time to allow adequate seasoning
Identifying contractors with the necessary expertise for the special wooden construction
Outlook
The following works will be the future focus:
Procurement of timber for the construction works
Import of selected materials not available locally
Floating of bids, evaluation and award of contract
Start of construction of the IT/ library and Auditorium buildings
