Helvetas Bhutan has identified two programme components for the country programme (2008-2012) namely: Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) and Rural Development Governance (RDG). These programme components complement and reinforce the overall goals of Poverty Alleviation and Democracy and Good Governance. Ensuring environmental sustainability, gender equality, equity and inclusiveness, institution and human capacity building, and harnessing the use of information and communication technology (ICT) wherever feasible are over-ridding themes in the entire Country Programme.
