Rural Infrastructure (RI)

The sectoral aim is to improve access to social infrastructures and services through construction and maintenance of trails, suspension bridges and selected road bridges.

Suspension Bridges Programme (SBP click here for details)

The SBP’s objective is to assist the government in attaining its goal of facilitating access to the remote and rural areas through strengthening the institutional and technical capacity of both the central and dzongkhag engineering sections and gradually decentralising its responsibilities, and constructing 50 new trail brides, maintaining 175 bridges, and rehabilitating walkway deck of 50 existing bridges.
